Dirt Devil

I just changed the belt on my vacuum cleaner dirt devil and now broke in me and this is the second one I purchased. Why keep breaking. What I discovered was – Dirt Devils have brass balls instead of roller bearings (better) If they get gummed or, as the gentleman above suggested answer, tied with a rope and carpet fiber is going to burn a belt any time. You should take the roller assembly. Apart and clean and oil. NO 4in an oil (kerosene based) turbine oil bad for bronze bearings) is the best (hardware) Clean and reassemble. Beware of excess fat on the belt or wheels.

If you are doing a lot of things wrapped around the brush, which will cause the belt to overheat, causing premature failure. Another cause can be height adjusted too low, the band also causes overheating. Check that the brush rotates freely without the belt on it.
